Chien Yang Erdem

Chien Yang Erdem is assistant professor in the department of new media of the of the faculty of economics, administrative and social sciences of Istinye University. Prior to that, she was an instructor in sociology and popular culture at Bilkent University. She holds a PhD and an MA in Media and Visual Studies from Bilkent University. She also holds a BA in Cultural Anthropology from The Evergreen State College, WA, USA. Her research interests include cultural studies, media and society, governance and culture, popular culture, media and visual studies and present-day Turkey, and television and cinema studies. She has published in peer-reviewed journals such as the Turkish Studies Journal.
